How the Rice Purity Test works

Each of the 100 questions begins with the prompt "Have you ever…" Tick every statement that applies to you. Your Rice Purity Test score is calculated as 100 minus the number of items you check. A perfect 100 means none of the items apply; a score of 0 means every single one does.

The questions are grouped into loose themes — early romance, solo experiences, digital intimacy, alcohol and substances, encounters with authority, and physical relationships — so the test moves from gentlest to most intense as you scroll.

What is a "good" Rice Purity Test score?

There isn't one. Scores depend heavily on age, lifestyle, and what you happen to have done — none of which makes one person better than another. That said, here's a rough guide to how scores are commonly interpreted:

100 – 98
Saintly. Almost untouched by the test. Common among younger high-schoolers and the genuinely sheltered.
97 – 77
Innocent. Some early experiences — first dates, first kisses, perhaps a sip of something. Typical for late teens.
76 – 45
Worldly. A balanced mix of curiosity and caution. The most common range for college students.
44 – 9
Experienced. Plenty of stories. Often seen in older students and adults who've truly lived the college years.
8 – 0
Legendary. Very rare and frankly impressive — though, as the warning at the top notes, completing every item is a feat best left aspirational.
